There are now two types of affiliate marketer:  the old type you’re probably familiar with and the new type.  Let’s compare them.

The Old Type

The old type of affiliate marketer claim they can make you millions when they have not made any money themselves, or if they are making money they’re planning to sell you sixty products before they help you make a penny. There also the people who flog Clickbank products that you or I would never buy or even look into buying

The New Type

The new type of affiliate marketer sells a product people want. If you’re from the UK you will know people sell Avon products and make money. That’s because Avon has a trusted brand and products that people want. There are also the people who don’t sell directly. Do you get code calls? I do and I never buy whatever they’re selling. But what they’re not is people who sell them self as millionaires when they’re not – they stay as far away as they can from that zone.

Most of you are probably thinking you’re the new type of affiliate marketer, but there are only about 5% who really are. I am not saying the old type of affiliate marketer does not make any money, what I am saying is you’ll make more money when you become a new type of affiliate marketer.

Let me give you an example. I am selling one product, hosting from go daddy.com, and you’re selling some Clickbank hosting product. Who will make the first sale? More than likely me – selling a product people want is better than selling some product your mate made, or a product you have never used yourself just because you can make more money of it . Also, claiming to be someone you’re not is never going to help you, because people will find out.

Have you ever wondered why you’re still looking for a killer way to make extra money? That’s simple – it’s because there are too many of the old type of affiliate marketers that claim to be rich when they’re poor and those are the people you’re copying.
